Live Earth

It's such a tough life being a journalist. I had to spend the whole of Saturday at Wembley watching the Live Earth concert for the Washington Post.
Pop gods: Madonna, Foo Fighters, Kasabian
Childhood dream: Duran Duran (but blimey, a testament to what too much of a rock'n'roll lifestyle can do for you)
Worth hearing: Beastie Boys, Keane
Genius like moment: Spinal Tap
Hugely inappropriate: Que sera sera by Rice and Gray; Geri Halliwell thinking recycling is plugging the Spice Girls in her intro
Wallpaper: James Blunt, Corinne Bailey Rae, Bloc Party
Lapdancer lookalikes: Pussycat Dolls

This is the piece,.. The Mac irritatingly has gone back to not letting me link

Your snotty review in the Wapo shows how young and immature you are. The Live Earth concerts were about awareness of a global crisis. The public service ads and clips were the point - the bands and music were just an incentive to get people to listen. Why don't you try looking at the concert from this perspective and write something a little more substansive.

First Ms. Cooper the purpose of this concert was to promote awareness. Hopefully, those people you quoted in your article walked away with a little more awareness of the problem than when they came in. Who cares if they know Al Gore? It isn't about him. I know it's hard for you Washington "journalists" to believe but it's about something bigger than what goes on inside the beltway---it’s about the planet EARTH.

I like that you used facts but you used them to promote your point-of-view only. You article was anything but fair or balanced.

What is the point of saving the planet if it will be inhabited by snotty people like Barbara? What a waste of space! People like this do more harm than good.
