What I did on my birthday this year

Spent the day writing a piece about the wondrousness of DCI Gene Hunt...

Thank you!...there are worse ways to spend a birthday than scanning YouTube for my favourite Life on Mars bits and sighing over DCI Hunt

Happy Birthday...

I share the same guilty secret. I can't wait for Ashes to Ashes and I don't even care what the story line is going to be. Have they cast the female lead yet?

The Mail on Sunday claims that Thandie Newton was in the frame for it. This is the link - if it works.

I obviously will be volunteering my services as well!

And anonymous thank you for the birthday wishes!

Darn - she's too pretty, and too accomplished. I think they should go for a relative unknown, someone who gave a seminal performance as Mary in the school nativity in 1978, then as an 'adoring girl' in Joseph in 1987.

Yes I think that would be a great move...unless of course they wanted to go for someone who played Santa Lucia, the Swedish symbol of Christmas in the 1982 primary school carol concert (Which is nearly 1981 after all)

Wow, you had a very progressive primary school! One of the most exciting things we did was the mock trial of Hissing Sid (from the Captain Beaky record) I was his defence lawyer and got him off. Not great credentials for working with DI Hunt I fear.

I'm looking forward to seeing the styling for the next series. Here's my research for 1981:

Which hair do you prefer?

All totally lush the hair...and loving Nick Rhodes uber pout....! Can imagine a Hunt-New Romantic collision so well.
You will have to keep quiet about Hissing Sid I am afraid to win the Gene Genius's respect
